A dispute over a few coins of change inside a neighborhood store turned into a heated argument, and a camera above the counter recorded all of it. Two women stand on opposite sides of the counter while a child waits near the open doorway. Posted online with a caption about how children should be raised, the clip has drawn sharply divided reactions.

Corner Store Argument Over R$10 Change Caught on Camera

Inside a Small Neighborhood Shop

The footage is time-stamped March 9, 2025, and begins shortly after 2 p.m. The camera looks down from a corner of the ceiling, catching both sides of the counter at once. It shows a compact shop packed with goods: shelves of chips and bottled drinks on one side, a chest freezer, a rack of toys and stickers, a folded chair near the entrance and a floor mat by the open door.

A woman in a yellow shirt stands behind the counter. A customer in a light-colored top faces her from the other side. On the counter sit a calculator, a plastic jar and scattered papers.

For the first minute, the scene looks ordinary — two people talking in a store during a slow afternoon. Then the tempo changes. Voices overlap, hands move faster, and the conversation becomes a disagreement that keeps stopping and restarting over several minutes.

The Numbers Behind the Argument

Money is the subject, and one figure keeps returning: R$10. The speakers circle the same question — how much a child brought into the store, what was actually bought, and how much change should come back. Smaller amounts, R$2 and R$5, come up as well.

Words such as "troco," meaning change, and "figurinhas," meaning collectible stickers, surface repeatedly. One voice insists that the amount handed over does not match the purchase. Another pushes back. At one point the exchange sharpens into an insult, and the dispute stops being only about coins.

"Eu não vou dar R$10,00 aqui e vou comprar todos esses figurinhos."

Roughly translated, the line means: "I'm not going to hand over R$10 here and buy all these little figures." It is one of several moments where the same sum is repeated by both sides.

No threats are captured on the recording, and no one can be seen striking anyone. What the footage does show is a disagreement that will not settle, even as people step away and return to the counter.

A Child at the Door, Then More People

Shortly after 2:06 p.m., a child appears in the doorway and steps inside. Minutes later, more people gather at the entrance, including an adult carrying a small child and a boy in a red shirt. The area around the counter stays busy as the discussion continues.

At one point the woman behind the counter picks up a phone while the conversation carries on. Outside the door, more figures wait in the daylight, and the shop's entrance stays crowded for several minutes.

The person who posted the clip added a caption in Portuguese arguing that a child had made a mistake and that scolding a child this way goes too far. That caption reflects the poster's own view. The recording itself does not show what happened before it began, and it does not establish who was responsible for what.

What the Footage Does Not Resolve

The video ends with the argument still going. There is no indication that anyone was injured, no sign of police arriving, and no official statement attached to the clip. Because several people speak at once, parts of the dialogue are hard to follow, and the store audio picks up fragments rather than complete sentences.

One thing is clear from the timestamps: the whole episode unfolded in roughly three minutes on a single afternoon. Everything else — the exact purchase, the change owed, and what prompted the first raised voice — is harder to pin down. Some details in this account remain unverified.

Was this argument really about a few coins of change, or about something the camera never managed to show?
