A weathered robot marked M-451 walks a cracked highway through fog and mountain country in Part 2 of the AI-made sci-fi short The Last Delivery. A dark dog trots beside it, and the machine gives its new companion a name on the spot. Around them lies a world of abandoned cars, fern-covered hillsides and one white container that still has to reach somewhere.

A Name for a Stray
The first clear look at the machine is a close-up: a scuffed white shell, orange paint worn down to rust, and two glowing amber eyes set in a blank face. Stenciled across its chest is the designation M-451, with a thin antenna rising from its head. It stands in the mist as if listening for something.

The naming moment is the hinge of the clip. The machine speaks, and the whole exchange arrives in a few words:
"You need a name. D-45. Dog. Okay. Dog."
The dog says nothing. It stays close instead, paws in wet grass, in a forest shot that puts the pair a long way from any road.

The Road and the Ruins
Wide images carry most of the geography. A two-lane highway with faded markings runs toward distant mountains, while wrecked vehicles and scattered debris sit along the shoulders. The robot moves at a walking pace, its heavy frame steady, and the dog keeps in step behind it.
Other shots push them onto rougher ground — ferns, a wooded slope, and a field at golden hour where the dog runs silhouetted against the light. In one frame, glimpsed through branches, the machine is almost hidden. It is a small reminder of how tiny one courier looks in this landscape.

Under a concrete overpass, the machine sits on the ground beside a person resting against the wall. The clip offers no explanation of who that person is or how they came to be there. The robot simply stays.
The Package and the Route
The delivery is the clearest piece of plot. The robot grips a white rectangular container marked 0303 in both mechanical hands. Its forearm display shows the identifier M-451 and an orange line tracing a route across a small screen — target, task, and the reason for the walk.

Then a second machine appears, this one with a dark round sensor in place of glowing eyes, and the dog stands between the two units. It is a turning point staged without dialogue: two machines, one package, and an animal that has attached itself to the courier.
Nothing in the clip explains what is inside the container or where the route finally leads. The sequence stops mid-journey, with the machine still upright and the dog still following.

Why the Short Lands
Dialogue is minimal by design, so the weight falls on small gestures — a name given, a body sitting down next to someone, a dog choosing to stay close. The result is a quiet, tense piece of storytelling that leans on atmosphere instead of exposition.
It also works as a compact example of how AI-assisted filmmaking is being used for serialized shorts: familiar sci-fi imagery, a simple mission, and a companionship arc doing the emotional work. Whether the mission itself can be completed is the part the series is holding back for later.

Some details, including the exact nature of the courier's task and the identity of the figure under the overpass, are left unverified by the clip itself.
What do you think M-451 is really carrying in that white container?
